5/11[大師工作坊(一):南印度節奏系統] by Poovalur Sriji !

***Inviting all interested musicians! A rare opportunity for Taipei!

John McLaughlin, John Coltrane, Charles Lloyd, and George Harrison (the Beatles)...
...
***South Indian music is generally considered to have the most highly-developed rhythmic system in the world. The possibilities are endless for application of this approach to other kinds of music. World-renowned artists such as John McLaughlin, John Coltrane, Charles Lloyd, and George Harrison all realized the sophistication of Indian music.

This workshop is a window into the fascinating rhythms of Indian music!

***The "Takadimi" system will make you look at rhythm in a whole new way. It will offer a fresh perspective for drummers, improvisors, and composers of any genre.

***In association with World Press Photo, we are thrilled to bring Poovalur Sriji - master Indian drummer, composer, and educator (bio below) to Taiwan.
